Dependable DEFENDER

I just read the news   about the retirement of your family line and I must admit, I felt my heart miss a beat.   I met you three years ago and you’ve never let me down. I decided to write this tribute  to show how much I appreciate your service.
When we first met, I felt in love with you at first sight though you complained you were not dressed properly for the occasion but I assured you that though I am not rich, I will do the best I can to bring you to the best that I could. I did what I could and you responded and overwhelmed me with your non-complaining attitude which is of old.
Whenever we met your old friends at the shop, you stood out with your modesty and have since become their envy. I understand the exigencies of the times require that your family in the Queen’s abode take a rest but for you and I, our love will remain.
The last time I left you home to travel out of town and the neighbor had to take, Kofi, my little boy to school, my wife tells me he cried the whole journey to school because he wouldn’t ride anybody but you. So fond has even a three year old become of you because of the traits you teach even in your service to your friends including me.Traits of dependability, strong will, and modest demands is what I will teach Kofi ,my son as he grows.
For my wife, who sometimes tease  you, I am sure she will be sad to hear the story back in your home country.
For my ailing Dad, well, he will be troubled to hear of the story, because he told me that he doesn’t know how to thank you for carrying him even in your ‘supposed’ old age from our home here in Kumasi to Accra in four hours to receive his treatment. I told him that he wasn’t the only one surprised and that the look on the young Germans, Japanese and your American nephews we met on the highway were of awe at your work rate. I suspect they will call your family in the U.K to learn a thing or two.
He asks of you anytime we speak on phone and I tell him you are doing well and you intend to come to Accra to bring him back when he’s through with his treatment.
I could go on and on, but I just want to say that though your family goes on retirement, I will not let you go. I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. Sometimes it’s difficult to get some of your replacement medication here in my country but you should be rest assured that wherever the medication is, I will get it for you. I will take care of you to the best of my abilities, my dependable DEFENDER.
